The Practice of Solitude and Seclusion
Here is a bonus! A blogger’s six-pack (not to be confused with a baker’s dozen). Actually, this was so good that I wanted to share all of the points from this article.
I subscribe to a newsletter from churchstaffing.com and this morning I received something that I thought would make a nice “best of” for the readers of iCrucified. This is the work of Whitney Hoplar who shares some affiliation with the churchstaffing.com website. The article in its entirety can be found there. The following is an excerpt from the main article. Enjoy!
“And He said to them, Come away by yourselves to a secluded place and rest a while.” (Mark 6:31)
Do you wish you could turn off your schedule, only to find that it keeps you looping around in a frenzy of activity?
If so, God invites you to come away with Him to secluded place. There, in the embrace of solitude and silence, you can turn off the world’s voices and tune into the voice of the One who made you. You’ll never hear all He’s whispering in your ears until you meet Him in seclusion.

I’m adding a new category for the blog. I think as I gather, or run across, resources that are useful to me, I’ll add them here. The installment will be titled “iCrucified 6-packs” since I will post them in groups of six. I think this will be good because it seems to be a manageable size. We’ll see how it goes, but for now…this will be our format. So without any further ado, we’ll announce our first “6-pack” of online resources. These are for assisting Bible Study, and all these are available for free!
