Tonight

Laurie and I are
 heading out to the Derek Webb concert tonight at Houghton College. I’ve enjoyed Derek (Caedmon’s Call) Webb’s music for quite awhile now and have really been looking forward to this concert. Over the past few years I’ve really connected with the solo work he’s put out and the gut-checking, heart-examining lyrics that he has written. While some folks might say some of the songs are a little “in your face;” I would answer that might be the case, but the reason we take offense to them might be the truth they embody. So be it…I like it and will thoroughly enjoy the concert. I might also add that I really enjoy his guitar playing. I’m planning to take my camera and hope they’ll let me bring it in for a few photos.
