Jeffrey,
I am glad that your "spidy-senses" didn't completely take over and rule over your open mindedness to take a good long look at this work of Steven K. Scott! Thanks for review to which Dean and I are finding ourselves in total agreement. It is becoming a fast favorite by our rocking chair......

I am planning to copy and print out your book review of The Greatest Words Ever Spoken after submitting this comment and enclose it into the two books that Dean and I have purchased this Christmas for individuals. We too agree that it should be among the myriad of books on every pastor-teacher's library book shelf.

Dean and I have been using this book frequently in our own personal studies throughout the week. Just this past week I chose the topic entitled, The Mission of a Christian found on p.281-289 primarily for self evaluation seeking to see where my walk lines up and falls short with the mission Jesus has called me to. It served as a great tool for reflection, conviction and alignment in my personal walk. I found it to be most insightful as I thoughtfully read through Jesus words over and again asking the Holy Spirit to reveal any areas that need my attention, areas where I may fail to passionately embrace what He really MEANT when He commissioned me on HIS MISSION!

I look forward to putting my hands on a few of the books that you have reviewed lately on your blog which have piqued my curiosity when I visit over the holidays and see which ones God has my name on to read! I am in agreement with you Jeffrey, right there on the same page brother, believing God orchestrates the order of the books that we read and the timing of that reading! I have just purchased while visiting in Lancaster over Thanksgiving the book,The Sacred Marriage that piqued my interest. Laurie was reading it and I perused it's content while visiting with you in November. I read Crazy Love by Francis Chan and I have just finished a book that God has used powerfully in my life. I just grabbed it off the bookshelf in the library of the Coudersport CMA months ago entitled, Intercession, Thrilling and Fulfilling by Joy Dawson (unfortunately it is now out of print). This is an area of discipline in my life that I want to grow deeper in and be far more attuned than I presently am. I have engaged in intentional intercession making more time in my daily life for it and already have seen growth in my personal prayer life as well as answers to prayer in the lives of others.

Thanks again for the Sticks Conference dvd's. Good stuff! Dean and I have watched and I have shared with both of our pastors.

Looking forward to sharing the gift of time over the holidays.
