Christ the King (Year A)

Christ the King (Year A)

God raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in heavenly places, far above all the rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the age to come. And he has put all things under his feet and has made him the head over all things for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all. -Ephesians 1:20-23

The LORD God will give to him the throne of his father, David, and of his kingdom there will be no end. (Luke 1:32-33)

Almighty and everlasting God, whose will it is to restore all things in thy well-beloved Son, the King of kings and Lord of lords: Mercifully grant that the peoples of the earth, divided and enslaved by sin, may be freed and brought together under his most gracious rule; who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

In the Temple of the LORD all are crying, “Glory!” -Psalm 29:9

A Prayer of Psalms:

Be glad, you righteous, and rejoice in the LORD; shout for joy, all who are true of heart. May God be merciful to us and bless us, show us the light of his countenance and come to us. You show me the path of life. In your presence there is fullness of joy; in your right hand are pleasures forevermore. (Psalm 32:12; Psalm 67:1; Psalm 16:11)
