Daily Meds
I think I’ve posted entries with the title or subtitle, Daily Meds in previous blogs. I kind of like the play on words and think that I’ll make it a regular part of my blog going forward. Here’s a little in the way of explaining my little word play…
“Meds”
n.
As used by iCrucified – the synthesis of medication and meditation; healing thoughts for restoring and growing the soul.
a. Medication: A medicine; the act or process of treating with medicine.
b. Meditation: To reflect on; contemplate
Here are the “Daily Meds” from iCrucified blog for August 20th, 2008:
- Craig Groeschel has been on a roll the last few days…check the “10 ways” he shares today.
- I’ve been reading the book Vintage Jesus by Mark Driscoll; I found a link to a download of a chapter from one of his latest books here, Death by Love. I’ll be checking it out and thought you might too.
- Another great comment from Mark Batterson’s Wild Goose Chase for today (I’m still in the process of finishing the book for the final installment of my review) follows:
“But let me say this point-blank: the ending to your story (life story) is entirely contingent on whether you turn to Jesus the way (the) criminal on the cross turned to Him. If you don’t, the tragedy remains a tragedy. If you do, the tragedy ends and the fairy tale begins. Again, I’m not promising a perfect life. Jesus Himself said, ‘In this world you will have trouble.’ Bad things happen to good people. You will experience some shipwrecks and snakebites along the way. But when you give Jesus complete editorial control over your ife, He begins writing His-story through your life.”
- “Deliverance belongs to the LORD. Your blessing be upon your people!” (Psalm 3:8)
